Marc Roy, CIM, FCSI

Senior Wealth Advisor, Portfolio Manager

Marc directly oversees investment decision-making for client accounts, and has held the Portfolio Manager accreditation since 1998.

My family: I was raised in Edmonton, my father was a professor of physics at the University of Alberta and my mother was a schoolteacher. My wife and I were married in 1991. We have three adult children in various stages of post-secondary education.

Best advice I have received: To be a thorough, careful decision maker and to review both the pros and cons of all investment decisions.

Best achievements: Acquired the requisite courses and license to attain the investment industry’s highest level of responsibility, the Portfolio Manager designation in 1998. This designation allows clients to delegate day-to-day investment decision-making. As importantly, a self-taught mediocre fly fisherman.

Most enjoyable part of my job: Helping clients understand the nuances of investing, and helping them solve unique financial issues.

Down time: I enjoy playing squash and table tennis with my children, in the summer I am an avid fly fisherman.

Best family trip: Rented a beach house on the Oregon coast when our children were young, and spent a fantastic summer on the beach.

Giving back: My family and I support various charitable causes in the Edmonton area including Wings, women and children’s shelters, and Chrysalis, an Alberta Society for Citizens with Disabilities.
